• Of ten common study techniques reviewed by Dunlosky's team, how many earned the top utility rating — and which ones?qa
• You self-test instead of rereading. When does that choice pay off — and when doesn't it?qa
• What does a failed retrieval attempt buy you — if anything?qa
• If I have just finished a chapter and want to review it, then I close the book and write down what I can recall — the reread comes after, as the check.if-then
• Your exam is in five days. A friend proposes a group session rereading everyone's highlights. What do you actually schedule?scenario
• Cramming the night before often works for the exam. What exactly is wrong with it?qa
• How far apart should practice sessions be?qa
• If today's session felt solid, then I book the next rep days out — and let some forgetting happen on purpose.if-then
• You can give a subject ten hours, and it matters in a month. One Saturday marathon, or five two-hour sessions across the weeks?scenario
• Blocked practice (AAABBB) versus interleaved (ABCACB): which teaches you to tell related categories apart — and which do learners believe in?qa
• When is interleaving NOT the right call?qa
• If two problem types keep blurring into each other, then I practise them shuffled together in one session — the mixing is what teaches the difference.if-then
• Your judgment of how well you have learned something — what is it actually built from?qa
• A worked example is perfectly clear — you follow every step and feel done with the topic. What is the trap, and the two-minute fix?scenario
• I treat 'that felt easy to read' as a fact about the text, not a fact about my memory.assertion
• Why do rereading and highlighting survive decades of weak evidence?qa
• What are desirable difficulties?qa
• This week's practice feels rougher than last week's smooth rereading, and your instinct says you are getting worse. What is actually happening?scenario
• If my practice has stopped feeling effortful, then I raise the difficulty honestly — longer gaps, closed-book recall, mixed problem types — because that ease says the reps have stopped doing work.if-then
• I judge my study plan by what I can produce next week, not by how today's session felt.assertion
• Is 'people are always overconfident' true?qa
• When do predictions of your own future recall become sharp?qa
• Does getting calibrated in one subject make you calibrated everywhere?qa
• Can calibration be improved at all — and what is the working ingredient?qa
• If my confidence and my test result disagree, then the result is the data point — I log the gap instead of explaining it away.if-then
• Which part of your current study routine is there because it feels productive? What would a closed-book test of it show?reflection
• Take the next real thing you must learn. Where will the spacing go, and what will the retrieval look like? Sketch the first week.reflection
